At the age of 25, Siyabonga Beyile is an enigmatic visionary that has been honing his ability to build a refined breed of globally relevant businesses, rooted in resourcing Africa’s future. With his innate creativity and disruptive approach to business, Beyile sits as Chairman at the helm of The Seven Twelve Group, which houses The Threaded Group and Rethaka Group.
With a nod from Forbes Africa, through his listing on the highly acclaimed 30 under 30 list, his career path reads as that of someone who has made it their life’s work to go beyond doing business as usual. His interests and influence have seen him become a celebrated business man, speaker and thought leader on all things fashion & lifestyle, tech and sustainability in Africa.
The Eastern Cape native was born on 7th December 1993, and as a young man formed his identity at Wynberg Boys’ High School and later furthered his studies at one of South Africa leading fashion schools known as LISOF. His entrepreneurial journey began when he put his studies on hold and decided to challenge himself to turn his blog called “The Threaded Man” into a profitable business.
Inspired by his take on “Africa with no prints” as a design language, Beyile’s body of work has made a unique contribution to the international fashion conversation. Most notable, is the Threaded Man online Platform which garnered attention for its ability to applaud and champion underrepresented voices and underappreciated subject matter in the African Fashion Industry.
The evolution of the brand will now see the launch of the Threaded Network which will house: TTMAFRICA.co.za, Threadcount Africa Magazine, The Threaded Exchange Podcast and a clothing brand. All of Beyile’s pursuits are about reshaping the industry – not only in South Africa, but on an international scale. Through his hands an unexpected spirit of African style finds a new outlet, which has been the draw card in attracting partnerships and working relationships with local and international brands including Hugo by Hugo Boss, Vaseline Men, TITAN Watches & McCallan amongst others.
